Daily devotionals that I hope inspire others in their Christian walk while assisting me to strive to be a better woman and the woman that God has called me to be.
On this last day of May, I hope I was able to show you a few attributes of who Jehovah is. He is all 30 of the aforementioned characteristics and more. Let him teach you even more of who he is that way you can stand firm like Elijah and say, God, is MY GOD!
Jehovah-God is MY God.
Life happens. It comes with valleys and mountain top experiences. Lessons in both spaces. I am truly learning each moment to patiently wait on MY GOD. He does not have any substitutions that will fulfill you the way he can. When he says he will meet your every need he will do absolutely that.
Don't settle, just wait.
Let him be your God in every single area of your life. Let him bring you into a level of holiness that you never contemplated. Let his love be so amplified in the life you are living that your allegiance to him is unquestionable.

I do a lot of thinking sometimes too much. I have come to understand that society measures the worth of a woman by whether she is married or in a relationship.👰🏽♀️
Subliminally we get messages from social media, television, music, and print media that suggest the value and worth of a woman is higher/value directly connected to her relationship status. It does not matter the characteristics of the man (Godly, good, bad, etc) just the fact she is connected to a man.👨🏽
Where on the contrary if a man is single - his value is higher and actually he is deemed to be a catch no matter what is attached to his past or present life status.🤑
It is a sad thought because it indirectly forces single women no matter the age to chase the proverbial goal of being in a relationship or marriage chalice. 🏃🏽♀️
A woman can scale the financial walls be a millionaire/billionaire and she is still viewed as lacking because she is not married. Example: Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah, Anita Hill, Diane Keaton, Coco Chanel, etc. And don't let her be economically challenged because then the statement is she didn't use what she had to get what she wanted so obviously she really isn't worth anything at all.🤷🏽♀️
If you are not married you are regulated to being difficult, mental health issues, or lesbian. And if she is lesbian, she is dismissed as she chose that lifestyle because a MAN did not want her, which leads back to the perspective that the value of a woman is attached to a man.🤦🏽♀️
Marriage, in my belief, is a very serious covenant that many do not take as seriously as they should hence the very high levels of divorce. Within marriage, your time and resources are shifted to be inclusive of your partner. Many people will tell you that it is a major act of integration to be able to further and continue their personal goals once they get married.❤️
Independent women do not have to imply women who are bitter, boisterous, disrespectful, loud, profane, or vulgar. It just means she is doing the exact same thing an Independent man is doing. 👈🏽👌🏽👏🏽
We never hear the phrase, "Independent man". 💁🏽
Also, check on your single ladies - just because they are on their grind does not mean they do not appreciate someone showing some wholesome concern and love. We must stop always associating sex to love. Single women are the best defensive players in any game, why? Because we are constantly having to defend we do not want another woman's man, LOL!! We have to play defense from married women, married men, cats, dogs, and anything in between, LOL 😂
On today, with so many young women graduating from high school/college, so many single adult women graduating from college and single adult women in general just on their grind for success. Appreciate the single ladies in your life. Respect their hustle. 🎉🤗🙌🏽
And let's change the norm that a woman's value is attached to a man. Let her value be HER value because it IS so! 💅🏽
She is valuable and worthy - just because she IS and that in itself is good enough.🙌🏽
Sheep are interesting animals. They have no sense of direction, whoever leads them, they will follow. Most tend to corral in groups because they do not have any defensive mechanisms, making them easy pickings for an animal that preys on them.
Sheep cannot get up without someone helping them. If a sheep falls on its back, the shepherd must help it back on its feet because it will die in that position.
Sheep know the shepherds. They can tell the difference between a stranger's voice and their shepherd.
Jehovah-God is our Shepherd.
Scripture repeatedly compares us to Sheep. If we are lost, Jehovah-God will search for us until he finds us. When we know God's voice it allows us to assuredly follow him.
We are Jehovah's sheep! How many times have you fallen and only God was able to rescue you? Have you chosen to truly follow him?

[16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
In most things, there is order in what we do? For example, if you want to drive a car logically the first step would be is to get in the driver's seat? If you want to bake a cake the first thing to do is to preheat the oven.
Jehovah-God is Order.
Out of chaos, he created order.
When God created this earth, he did it with order. In life when we do things out of order it can cause unnecessary challenges for our lives. It brings confusion and frustration. Jehovah is not the author of confusion. It is like the saying of putting the cart before the horse. The strength of the horse will cause the cart to move. But at a slower pace and with frustration. However, if you move the cart to behind the horse, he is no longer obstructed, can move faster and freely.
Where do you need to ask God to bring order in your life?
What challenges have you been facing because you have been doing things out of order?

Have you have heard this quote before, "Favor ain't Fair?"
What this is saying as a believer Jehovah blesses you in a very special way. Extra kindness or partiality is shown towards you, you may be given certain advantages that others may not receive.
Jehovah-God is Favored.
There are times in our lives where it is just extremely overwhelming. Let us be honest, this whole Covid-19 has really run its course for some of us. Yet! During all of it, Jehovah still has given favor to his children.
On this Friday, I would like to challenge you to think about over the course of this past year and a half how has God shown you favor through this pandemic.
Then share that testimony with someone.
Encourage someone today, your testimony may be what keeps another believing.

If I testified of how Jehovah consistently takes care of me and the surprises, he has brought me, you would not believe me if I told you. I am constantly amazed at what he does for me and those in my circle. At times, it overwhelms me just thinking of my journey.
God has kept me and still keeps me.
Truly, there have been times when there were only one set of footprints and that is when he was carrying me.
Jehovah-God is my help.
God is our helper IF you would only let him. During tough times it is so hard to trace his hand. Yet I have learned to lean into his heart. The tears I have cried could fill an ocean, but God! God's word is true! Everything you could imagine and more he will do for you. Hold on... just be steadfast and hold on, daybreak is right on the other side of that dark night.
Are you really opening your heart and hands to allow him to help you?

When a home or building is being created the first stone that is set is called the cornerstone. This stone sets the foundation and balance for the rest of the stones laid. If this one stone is out of balance or weak, then it will cause all the other stones to eventually break down.
Jehovah-God is the cornerstone.
Scripture tells us Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our lives. He is your foundation. He is the balance for your life.
Build your life on the cornerstone!

Have you ever stopped and looked at nature and been in awe of the majestic handiwork?
When I was a little girl, I lived in a city called Huntsville, AL. On your way into Huntsville, you are blessed with such beautiful mountains that shadow you into North Alabama. My mother especially loved this area so much.
In contrast, I am blessed to currently live in Wilmington is on the Southeastern coast of North Carolina. We are bordered by the Cape Fear River on one side, the Intracoastal waterway, and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.
Jehovah-God is magnificent.
Nature teaches us how intricate and magnificent our Jehovah is! It's in every blade of grass, to the formation of the clouds, to the smell of honeysuckles, to the chirps of the birds and the patterns of alligators.
In everything!
Acknowledge Jehovah God for how magnificent he is. How his majesty reveals itself in your design as a human and your environment.

“A wonderful change has come over me!” These words are from one of my favorite Gospel songs. I look at my past and see how Jehovah God has changed my life in such a remarkable way. All from me saying one word: YES!
I don't have the testimony of being able to share that on Tuesday, May 24, 1987, I gave my life to Christ. What I do know is that God has always been with me and I cannot literally remember a time in my life where I never heard his voice. I can also say that I can see situations in my life that were transformational.
Losing my mom at 11. Going to university at 17. Losing my elders in my 20s. Having my son at 34 and other times. God has changed my life and continues to reshape my understanding of who he is. Walking away from social and religious constructs that warp the Sovereignty of who he is. Every day and every experience connects me deeper and seals my covenant of Yes.
Jehovah God is transformative.
There were times and still times that I had a hard time accepting what God was doing, believing in him and the path he was taking me on, and understanding the journey was for my purpose and salvation.
Realizing, that I play a vital role in impacting someone else's life if I am not in a position in my life. Have you let God truly change your life?
I mean do that deep excavating and go to those places that hurt so bad, that are so dark you have never let anyone see. The places you shut & locked the door, threw away the key and you have not even visited since it occurred?
Let Jehovah-God transform your life!

Wrapping our minds around the difficult times in our lives can be very hard, especially, the unexpected ones.
Pain comes in so many varied ways, from something as small as cutting your finger with paper to something major as the death of a loved one. From a relationship breakup to losing a job. From a medical injury to being diagnosed with a medical condition.
Jehovah God is pain.
He has suffered every situation we have encountered and is WITH us through it all.
It was not Abba's desire for us to have pain, yet we can trust he experiences it all with us. Those tears we cry; he cries too. That heartache you have had, he has had too!
Do not let Satan lie to you about the pains of life.

🙏🏽Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
We measure it so definitively on earth. We measure it with clocks & calendars. We ascertain that if things are not done within a span, that it is not on time. We make statements that if we go into a situation faster than what is traditional - then it is rushing; on the same note if we go into a situation later than what is traditional - then we are late.
Jehovah God IS Time.
Scripture says, "A thousand years is a day to him" He moves without pressure but with purpose. Because chronological time is of no relevance to him, when he moves - it is right on time. Nothing on this earth or in heaven moves without his power. There is no early, There is no late. There is just him.
There is freedom in moving WITH Abba!
Be like water and flow with the current.

🙏🏽2 Peter 3:8-9 ERV But don't forget this one thing, dear friends: To the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. [9] The Lord is not being slow in doing what he promised-the way some people understand slowness. But God is being patient with you. He doesn't want anyone to be lost. He wants everyone to change their ways and stop sinning.
New job, new car, new baby, "new phone who dis? 😂😜", new, marriage, and the biggest one of them all, New Year.
So much so that we never truly embrace endings! We cry, pout, exhibit anger, depression all at the ending of something. We exclaim, "We need closure!" if it does not end the way we plan.
God is Alpha and Omega.
We need to get comfortable with ends & exits.
Why wait for something to turn bad until you realize your season is over? Most times Jehovah God told you your time was up way before the messy ending occurred, however, in your stubbornness you dragged it out and now you are upset. Learn to leave when God says go! Learn to let go of something without sorrow attached or disagreement.
Learn to let people go! Especially in the good times. To be honest that is the best time to leave when people can remember the value you brought without anything negative attached to it.
Fish and guest get old after 3 days, don't be the fish🐠!
Again, God is Alpha, and what? Omega! Exactly, the beginning and THE END.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
When we are vague about expectations, directions, or statements, it leads to unanswered questions and can even cause disagreements or worse injury.
I asked Dynzcil to bring me the vinegar one day while I was cleaning the bathroom, he went and got the red wine vinegar out of the pantry. While I was really asking for the cleaning vinegar, technically he brought me vinegar and I was not specific.
God is specific.
When Jehovah God gives instructions, he is specific in what he says. He does not leave you questioning, and on the occasion, you are unsure you get to go back to him and ask more questions for clarity. When God instructed Moses to build the ark of the covenant, he was very specific. So, when Moses went to Bezalel & Aholiab to have it constructed there was no doubt in the design and how it was supposed to look.
How many times in your life have you been vague about your instructions or requests? Think about how many times you had to go back and clear something up.
Be clear the first time.
Be specific.
Leave no room for Satan to bring distraction or disruption. Sometimes we are delayed in our journey because of vagueness

God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace. This is the rule for all the meetings of God's people.
I mean a good ole deep down hard belly laugh. Not some surface chuckle, but one of those laughs that make you snort and cry from laughing so hard. I believe some are just so wound up that comedy would be viewed as a dramatic reading or possibly even sinful because they have lost their funny bone.
God has a sense of humor.
Jehovah-God has a sense of humor. When I read certain stories in the Bible it makes me laugh. From making a donkey speak to referencing that Leah was not pretty, to Jonah being swallowed by a whale to when the little kids were teasing Elisha and two, she-bears came out of nowhere.
Just look at your own life, I'm sure it provides for a healthy dose of comedy all throughout it.
Today find something to laugh really hard about. Watch the joy and smile it brings to your energy and face.

🙏🏽Ecclesiastes 3:4 ERV There is a time to cry and a time to laugh. There is a time to be sad and a time to dance with joy.
This past weekend was tough for me. I dealt with a terrible migraine all weekend. All of it was attributed to undue stress, I put my own self through. I got in my own feelings, did not reflect on the devotionals I have sent through the years, and was really upset. I allowed myself to think back on past situations and how people deeply hurt me.
I went to bed last night pretty sad, to be honest. When you have given so much of yourself, to be disrespected and cast out is a painful feeling.
However, I got up this morning, took a deep breath. Acknowledged, I am still standing (well technically I was still sitting😜😂)
God is air.
It's ok to have emotions and human moments.
Don't stay there.
Take a deep breath and feel the air flowing through your body. Be present in your breathing. Air is invisible but powerful.
It takes up every space in your body. It calms, centers, and clears your thoughts. It energizes the lungs. It brings you to peace. Holy Spirit is a comforter. Let Jehovah God, King of Kings, Abba be the air you need. Let him cleanse all the hurt from your spirit.
Is there anything you need to release?
